Adult Religious Education

Frequent sessions of Adult Religious Education are offered. A wide variety of topics have been included in recent sessions. Examples of past topics include Ethics, Biology and Spirituality, Separation of Church and State, Thoreau's essay on Civil Disobedience, Humanism, and Quakerism. The sessions include readings and open discussion led by one or more Fellowship members. Due to the general nature of the Adult Religious Education topics, it is easy for new members and guests to participate. For further information on dates and topics, contact the Adult RE Chair listed on the Contacts page.

Children’s Religious Education

Get involved with our congregation's youth by planning a lesson you are passionate about, attending a Family Fun Night, or visiting at one of our summer picnics. We welcome all members of our congregation to participate in the guidance and education of our youngest members! Let a board member know if you would be interested in the Children’s Religious Education Committee.

Our programming for the children also gets involved in the community. We regularly plan environmentally focused lessons like picking up trash outside, learning about the water table, and presenting on the changing seasons. Our children are exposed to social justice issues and have the opportunity to raise money for a local charity around the holiday season each year. We work to provide programming for teens, too! Our teens help with small children in the nursery during service, enjoy gatherings outside of fellowship like Circle Dinners and Family Fun Night, as well as participate in the acclaimed Our Whole Lives (OWL) sexual education curricula. These are just some of the ways you can get involved with our youth here at SCUUF!
